Granulated cork

Definition:

Fragments of dimensions between 0.2 and 8 mm obtained by grinding corkwaste.

Note: Combination of granulometries is possible (example: 0.5/2.0, 2.0/4.0).

Packing:

Granulated cork shall be dispatched in bags (25 Kg) or bales (50 Kg). If it is packed in bales, the granulated cork is compressed, covered and reinforced with wooden strips and baling wire.

Composition cork

Definition:

Agglomerated cork made of cork granules of specified dimensions with the addition of a binder and by a combined action of pressure and temperature.
Produced in cork blocks with dimensions of 960x640x200mm.

(1) - For trimmed material. Maximum dimensions are 920 x 620 mm.
(2) - Typical value. Specific values depend of the type of composition cork.
(3) - No disintegration.
(4) - For sheets with thickness larger than 20 mm, moisture can be £ 11 %.

Note: Composition cork is normally delivered in sheets of any thickness. Standard dimensions of sheets are 900 x 600 mm. Sheets can be sanded or not.

Cork floor coverings

Definition:

Medium to high density agglomerated cork cut in tiles or sheets with the thickness of four (typical) millimetres for floor covering purposes. Tiles or sheets can be made by gluing two sheets of different types of agglomerated cork or one sheet of agglomerated cork and one natural cork veneer.
Maximum size of untrimmed sheets is 960x640 mm.

Floor tiles are both surfaces sanded. They can be coloured, waxed or varnished.

When finished with the special NFP cork floor finishes, cork tiles will provide customers with a low maintenance floor for years to come.

NFP Natural cork floor finish with unique broad spectrum absorbers

For natural cork NFP natural cork floor finish is the obvious product, Like wood, cork fades when exposed to sunlight. The red colour particles in cork are particularly light-sensitive. Protection against UV rays alone is not sufficient because actual light itself caused cork to fade. Therefore NFP natural floor finishes contain, besides UV-protectors, broadspectrum absorbers and special colour-enhancing mediums which slow down the fading of natural cork.

Clear cork floor finish for coloured cork tiles

Colour is the trend of the day! The applied colour stain on cork protects against fading and discoloration. NFP clear cork floor finish is colourfast and will now yellow. Therefore, it is particularly suited for use on coloured floors.
